OPTION: Have the students play a vocabulary game in threes. They each choose a word and
spell the word using other words that begin with the letters of the word they chose. For
example: ‘cool’ could be: cat, out, on, lemon. Their group has to write down what they think
the word being spelled is. Then each team member checks to see how many words they got
correct.

Have the students write in their notebooks the sentences in the
word bank in the order of the events in the story. They should
use the structure given using First, Second, etc. When they are
finished organizing the structure, they should write what they
think happens next in the story.
