HOTS: PREDICT
Section Title – Turn the students’ attention to the heading of
the section. Ask them who they think the question is referring
to. Have them make suggestions. Then ask:
• Who do you think is making a movie?
• Do you think it’s Albert and the kids?
• What do you think will happen in this part of the unit?
SI: Students engage in short
conversations/discussions by
asking and answering simple
questions about familiar topics
and everyday situations.
Remind them of their answers at the end of the section to see how many of the students
were correct.
1. Let’s Remember!
WKBK: Have the students turn to workbook page 119, exercise 1. Read the sentences with
the students and have them write each sentence in the correct place.
Pullout Box – Do you know?
Have the students read the pullout box and discuss the definition of the word ‘cool’ with
them.
Pre-Reading
2. Let’s Read and Act!
HOTS: PREDICT AND MAKE CONNECTIONS
Have the students look at the text and the pictures.
Ask:
• What do you think happens in this story?
• What do you think the kids are going to do?
• How is this connected to the heading of the section?
AI: Students understand the
general meaning, main ideas
and the sequence of events
in a text, and use this
knowledge as needed.
While Reading
Go to www.eadventure.co.il/LFO to play this text or
have the students read quietly and ask:
• What does Anna ask Albert? (are you taking photos of us)
• What is Albert doing? (making a movie of Carla playing guitar)
