Photo F is like the photo of the shark and the helicopter, and
this “angry” koala bear is fake. It is also made of two different
photos. One photo is of a real, wet, koala bear, but he isn’t
angry, and this isn’t his nose and mouth. Can you guess what
animal’s nose and mouth ARE in this picture? It’s a wolf!
NOTE: It would probably also be worthwhile to get the students to talk about photo fakery
in general – anybody who takes pictures with their smartphone also has apps that can
manipulate them. Also, it's only recently that many countries created laws that require you
to SAY that a photo in an ad campaign (skinny, perfect models, etc.) or in a newspaper story
is not, in fact, 100% real, but has been changed using photo editing software.
9. Word Workout!
. Play Draw It. Have a student draw a word from the
work bank and the class has to guess.
Alternative: Have the students play in pairs or groups
of four and do the same.
SI: Students interact for a limited
range of purposes, such as following
basic instructions and directions,
asking for and giving information,
making and fulfilling simple requests.
If your class prefers not to draw, play Guess the Word: In pairs,
each student chooses a word, writes it down in their notebook,
