LFO Teacher's Guide - Book - Page 101
4. Word Workout!
Have the students copy the headings into their notebooks and categorize the words in the
word bank.
Answers:
• Adjectives: lost, clean, hard, great, strong
• Nouns: spy, contest, hair, number, woman
• Verbs: follow, cross (the street), read, found, look like
5. Let’s Write!
Have the students write at least four sentences using the words in exercise 4. Encourage
them to write more sentences if possible.
EASIER OPTION: Have the students who are still struggling put the words in alphabetical
order and then make combinations of noun and adjective. For example: clean hair, strong
spy, hard contest.
CHALLENGING OPTION: Have the able students make compound sentences using a
conjunction such as: and, or, so, but. For example: The woman is a spy and she is very
strong.
SUPER CHALLENGING OPTION: Have the students who enjoy a hard challenge write three
sentences that change their focus dramatically when the stress of each word is changed and
explain the differences.
For example: The spy lost the contest.
• The spy lost the contest. – It was a spy who lost the contest, not someone else.
• The spy lost the contest. – The spy lost the contest, he didn’t win it.
• The spy lost the contest. – The spy lost the contest, not something else.
WKBK: Have the students turn to workbook pages 78-82 and do exercises 1-9.

Vocabulary
Before going on to exercise 6, focus on the Vocabulary Ruler on page 75.
If you have access to the digital format, go to the Vocabulizer online
(www.eadventure.co.il/LFO/vocab) and have the students work there. If not, teach the
vocabulary from the book.
Make sure the students are familiar with the words in the Words I Know (have to, write).
Read them and have the students explain/show you what the words mean. Do at least one
review activity. For ideas, go to page v, Teaching Vocabulary.
