Say: Good morning. How are you?

Have the pupils respond together: I am fine, thank you. How are you?

Say: I am fine, thank you.
▪
Have pupils turn to the person sitting next to them and ask: How are you?
Song

Sing “Days of the Week” (song #1.34) to review the days of the week.

Ask: What day is it today? (Elicit: Today is (Sunday).)
▪
What day was it yesterday? (Elicit: Yesterday was (Saturday).)
▪
What day will it be tomorrow? (Elicit: Tomorrow will be (Monday).)
▪
Ask different pupils: What is your favorite day of the week? Why? (Elicit: My favorite day is…)

Say: Let's play a game.
•
Play the game to review the words: bread, chips, cookies, water, juice, cheese, spinach, carrot,
tomato, fish, onion, peppers, chocolate, cookie, jam, fruit.

Review the words using the flashcards before playing the game.
Chain Game: The Sandwich Party (game #10)
▪
Say: I am bringing (bread) to the sandwich party.
▪
Demonstrate the game by ask a pupil: What are you bringing to the sandwich party? (Have the
pupil say the food you are bringing to the party, then add another food to the list: I am bringing
(bread) and (cookies) to the sandwich party.)
▪
The next pupil must repeat the previous two foods and add a third.
▪
Continue until all pupils have had a chance to add to the sentence.
▪
If a pupil gets stuck, point to the flashcard to remind the pupil of the word, or ask the class to
help.
