Review the instructions for each task before allowing pupils to
work on their own or with a partner.

#6: Write the words from the word box according to where
you hear the /th/ sound – in the beginning (green), middle
(yellow), or end (red) of the word.

#7: Complete the sentences with the words from #6. Use
the story on page 51 to help you. (Note: there are more words than you will need.)

#8: Read the sentences and number the pictures in the correct order of the story on page 51.

Game

Say: Let's play a game.

Play the game to review the vocabulary: bread, cheese, chicken, pizza, apple, banana, cake, cookies,
salad, sandwich.

Review the words using the flashcards before playing the game.
Number/Picture Game (game #1)

Show the flashcards and write the numbers 1-10 below each picture.
▪
Say a word that is on one of the flashcards. Have pupils say the number of the picture while
holding up the correct number of fingers (1-10).
▪
Alternate by you saying a number and the pupils replying with the corresponding word.
▪
After a few turns, shuffle the words on the board so that the numbers change.

Teach the new vocabulary in the Course Book using the flashcards.

Present each card one at a time and say the numbers: eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen,
sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty.
