5. Stop Me When…
•
Say: Stop me when you see (a sandwich).
•
Start showing the flashcards one at a time. Keep showing the flashcards until the pupils
shout "Stop!"
•
Ask: What is this? (Elicit: This is (a sandwich).)
•
Repeat with all the words.
6. Quick Flash Game
•
Flip all the cards so the picture is not visible.
•
Quickly flash a card to the pupils, and then turn it back around.
•
Ask: What is it?
•
Have the pupils guess what they saw: (Elicit: It is (a/an)…)
•
If the pupils guess correctly, turn the card around to show the picture. Say and have pupils
repeat: It is (a/an)…
•
If the pupils do not guess correctly, flash the card and have pupils guess again.
•
Repeat with all the cards.
7. Go to Sleep
•
Have pupils put their head on the desk and say: Goodnight. Go to sleep!
•
Hide one of the cards and say: Good morning. Wake up!
•
Ask: What’s missing?
•
Have pupils say what is missing. Reveal the card to check the answer.
•
Repeat the game several times and take away a different card each time.
8. Mime Game
•
Say a word and have the pupils do a gesture for that word.
•
Then, do the gesture for a word and have the pupils say the word.
•
Alternate and repeat for each word.
