The Selfish Giant
Page 96
In a small town there lives a big giant.
He is not a nice giant. He is selfish and mean.
The giant only cares about himself, and he doesn’t like to share.
He doesn’t like people and people don’t like him.

He has a big garden with green grass,
beautiful flowers, and a lot of fruit on the trees.

The children in the town want to play in the garden.
But the giant is selfish and mean.
He doesn’t like to share his garden.
The mothers and fathers always say to their children,
"You can’t play in the giant’s garden!"
So, the children play somewhere else.
