Ask different pupils: How do you feel? (Elicit: I feel happy/sad/afraid/mad/surprised)

Teach and sing “If You’re a Boy/Girl” (song #1.8).

Game

Say: Let’s play a game.
•
Play the game to review the words and letters. Review the words using the flashcards before playing
the game: ask, bed, dog, end, friend, go, happy, job, lost, mad, net, pen, rest, swim, talk, up.

Elicit the sounds in the beginning, middle, and end of the words. Write the letters on the board
and read the words together with the pupils. e.g., /a/ /s/ /k/ ask
I Spy (game #2)

Make binoculars with your hands and say: I spy with my little eye something that begins with
the letter (J) and the sound (/j/).
▪
Have pupils identify the correct word. Play a few rounds.
▪
Choose a pupil to be the spy and say: I spy with my little eye…
