After listening, point to the first suitcase and ask: Whose bag is this? (Elicit: It is Jamie’s bag.)

What is the weather in the city where Jamie is going? (Elicit: It is hot and sunny.)

Repeat to ask about the other two suitcases.

Say: Look at #5.

Say: Write sentences to describe what each kid has in their bag.

Give pupils a few minutes to complete the sentences. Remind pupils that they can copy the
clothing words from the glossary in the back of the Stories & More book (page 138) or from the
word box on page 251.

Say: Open your Course Books to page 253. Look at #6.

Before reading, ask pupils if they know what type of text this is. Remind pupils
that this is a blog, and that they have seen this text type before, in Unit 2 of
Stories & More. Remind pupils about the features of a blog.

Read together with the pupils: The Floating Market

Teach the new word “float(ing)" through the context of the text title (use L1 if needed to explain
the meaning).

Ask: Look at the picture. What do you think a “floating market” is? (Elicit any logical response)
Say: Let's read the blog and find out what the Floating Market is.

After reading, ask: What is the Floating Market? (Elicit: It is a market on boats.)

Read the blog post together as a class. Have pupils point to follow along in their Course Books.
Point to the questions about the Floating Market and ask different pupils to read the text.
Where is the Floating Market? (Elicit: It is in a big city in Thailand.)
Now, follow the instructions and have pupils circle the information in the text in the correct color.

Give pupils a few minutes to do this on their own or with a partner.
▪
When pupils are finished, ask volunteers to come to the board and circle the information in the
text to check answers.
