Say: Let's read and say the words.

Have pupils point to each word in their Course Books and say the words.
Point to ‘country’ and ask: What countries in the world do you know? (Elicit from pupils different
country names that they know including Israel (in L1 if needed). Repeat the country names in English
if needed.)

Ask different pupils: Where do you want to go on a trip? What countries did you visit? What
countries do you want to travel to?
▪
Point out to pupils that names of countries begin with a capital letter.
Point to ‘Israel’ and ask: What country do you live in? (Elicit: I live in Israel.)

What city/town do you live in? (Elicit: I live in…)

Say: Let's play a game.
•
Play the game to review and practice the vocabulary: airplane, boat, bus, car, city, country, drive, fly,
Israel, town, train, travel, trip, visit, walk, world.

Quick Flash Game (game #6)

Flip all the cards so the picture is not visible.
▪
Quickly flash a card to the pupils, and then turn it back around.
▪
Ask: What is it? Have the pupils guess what they saw: (Elicit: It is ___ .)
▪
If the pupils guess correctly, turn the card around to show the picture. If the pupils do not guess
correctly, flash the card and have pupils guess again.
▪
Repeat with all the cards.
Course Book
•
Say: Open your Course Books to page 234. Look at #1.
•
Before reading, point to the picture and ask: Where are the people? (Elicit: They
are on an airplane.)

Ask: Where do you think they are going? (Elicit any logical response.)

Read the text next to the picture together with the pupils. Ask: Where are the
people flying to? (Elicit: Israel) Where are the people flying from? (Elicit:
England)

Now say: Let's read the conversation and circle the new words.

Have pupils circle the new words from the bottom of the page in the conversation text.
After reading, say: Talk to a friend.
▪
In pairs, have the pupils read the conversation to each other. Then, pupils should switch roles and
repeat to practice.
