Sing “Our Neighborhood" (song #3.02) to review activities around town vocabulary.

Do gestures to illustrate the activities in the song. Have the pupils copy you.
Vocabulary
Review

Review the vocabulary using the flashcards: airplane, boat, bus, car, train, drive, fly, walk, city, town.

Ask: Who remembers? (Elicit the words.)
▪
Have pupils repeat the words.
Ask (use L1 if needed): What do these words have in common? (Elicit a logical response in L1 if
needed, then repeat in English: They all have to do with traveling or transportation.)
▪
Tell pupils that today they will begin a new unit on the topic of traveling around the world.
▪
Teach the new word “around" through the context of the unit topic (use L1 if needed to explain
the meaning).

Teach the new vocabulary in the Course Book using the flashcards.

Present each card one at a time and say the words: country, Israel, travel, trip, visit, world.
