Lexical Chunks
Course Book
•
Say: Open your Course Books to page 6. Look at #1.
•
Read the dialogue together with the pupils:
Hello. My name is Max.
What is your name?
How are you?
Hello, Max.
My name is Anne.
I am fine, thank you.
•
Demonstrate the dialogue with a volunteer if needed. Show pupils that they can
replace the names in the Course Book with their own names.
•
Say: Talk to a friend.
▪
In pairs, have the pupils say the dialogue to each other. Then, pupils should switch roles and
repeat the dialogue.
▪
If time allows, pupils can repeat the dialogue to greet other friends in the class.

Alternate by you saying a number and have the pupils respond with the corresponding word.
▪
After a few turns, shuffle the words on the board so that the numbers change.
