flashcards: nice, city, December, face, juice, pencil, police.

Ask the pupils: Who remembers? (Elicit the words.)

Say: All the words have the letter C. What sound does the letter C make in the words? (Elicit: /s/)

What words do you know that have the sound /k/? (Elicit: cake, cat, cloud, cool, car, cow, etc.)

Say together with the pupils: The letter is C and the sounds are /k/ and /s/.
Ask: What other letters that make more than one sound have we learned about in this unit? (Elicit:
the letter Y (/y/, /E/, /I/), the letter G (/g/ and /j/).)
