Introductions and Greetings
Greetings

Introduce yourself and say: Hello. My name is _____ .
•
Practice greeting someone and introducing yourself. Toss a small ball to different pupils and ask a
question.

Hello, my name is _____ . What is your name? (Elicit: My name is _____ .)
▪
Good morning. How are you? (Elicit: I am fine, thank you.)
After responding, the pupil should throw the ball back to you. Say: Thank you.
Song

Teach and sing “Good Morning, School” (song #1.37).
Introducing Legendary
Review

Review the vocabulary using the flashcards and gestures: stand up, sit down, listen, quiet, point to,
look at, open your books, please, thank you.

Ask: Who remembers? (Elicit the words.)
▪
Have pupils repeat the words and gestures.
Tell pupils that they should listen for these instructions in English in the classroom. Use this time to
explain the classroom rules and expectations (use L1 if needed).
Course Book

Show your Course Book to the class. Say: This is the Course Book.
•
Remind pupils that books in English open from the left to the right. Have the pupils open their Course
Books.
•
Briefly explain to pupils the structure of the Course Book (use L1 when needed):
