What was the weather yesterday? (Elicit, e.g.: It was cool and windy yesterday.)

Have pupils repeat the words.

▪
Say together with the pupils: The letter is Y and the sound is /y/.
For each word, ask: Do you hear the sound /y/ in the beginning, middle, or end of the word?
