Ask (use L1 if needed): What season is it now? (Elicit the season)

Have pupils point to each word in their Course Books and say the words.
Teach the new word “season" through the context of the question (use L1 if needed to explain
the meaning).
Ask the class: Where do you live? (Elicit: I live in (name of city).)

Point to ‘winter' and ask (use L1 if needed): What's the weather like in the winter in (name of
city)? (Elicit, e.g.: In the winter it is (cold and rainy).)

Repeat for each season. Elicit the temperature and weather for each season according to where
the pupils live using the previously taught vocabulary.
Game

Say: Let's play a game.
•
Play the game to review and practice the vocabulary: winter, spring, summer, fall, hot, cold, cool,
warm, cloud, rain, sky, snow, sun, wind.
•
Stop Me When… (game #5)

Say: Stop me when you see (summer).
▪
Start showing the flashcards one at a time. Keep showing the flashcards until the pupils shout
"Stop!"
▪
Ask: What is this? (Elicit the word.)
▪
Repeat with all the words.

Say: Open your Course Books to page 190. Look at #1.

Ask: What do you see? (Point to and elicit the seasons: spring, summer, fall,
winter)
•
Say: Listen and number the pictures in the correct order.
1 It is spring. It is warm and sunny. I am wearing a shirt and shoes. I like to play
in the park.
2 It is winter. It is cold and snowy. I am wearing a coat and boots. I like to play
in the snow.
3 It is summer. It is hot and sunny. I am wearing swim clothes and a hat. I like to play at the beach.
4 It is fall. It is cool and windy. I am wearing long pants and a jacket. I like to play in the leaves.

After listening, say: Look at (spring). What do you see? (Elicit: I see a park/trees/flowers/a blue
sky/the sun, etc.)

What's the weather in the (spring)? (Elicit: It is warm and sunny.)

What can you wear in the (spring)? (Elicit any logical answers: a shirt, shoes, short pants, etc.)
▪
Repeat to talk about each season.
