Explain that pupils will now do an activity to see how much they remember.
•
Say: Open your Course Books to page 179.
•
Say: Write your name in English. Show them where.
•
Review the instructions for each question and complete the listening task before
giving pupils some time to complete the remainder of the assessment on their
own.
1. Listen and number:
1 I read books at the library.
2 She works at the police station.
3 I like to play outside in the park. 4 We eat dinner at the restaurant.
5 She works at the hospital.
2. Write the correct word to complete the sentences. Use the word box to help you.
3. Write the vowel team to complete the words: ea, ai, oa, ou, oo
4. Complete the sentence to say what animal the man has and what color it is (2 words).

Collect the assessments. After the lesson, mark the assessments on the Summary Sheet in
Appendix Va.
Self-Assessment

Tell pupils that you are so proud of them and how well they are doing in English.
•
Now you want to find out how they feel about learning English.
•
Explain that learning language takes time and everyone learns at a different pace, but in the end we
all learn.
•
Tell pupils they will assess how well they think they do the different things they have learned in this
unit. Tell them: What you think and feel about your learning is very important.

Explain that this is not a test.
•
Say: Open your Course Books to page 180.
•
Say: Write your name. Show them where.
•
Point to the three pictures of Max on the mountain.
•
Say: If you think you do something VERY WELL, mark under Max on top of the
mountain.
