Play the game with a partner or small group.

Provide each group of pupils with one die and colored game pieces.

As they are playing the game, encourage pupils to speak in English to communicate with their
group members.
Explain the rules of the game to the pupils:

Show pupils where to start ("Go!") and where to finish ("Stop!").
▪
Throw the dice and move the appropriate number of spaces on the board.
▪
When you land on a square, say what you see, read the word, or complete the sentence.
▪
If you land on a crosswalk square, go up. If you land on a red stop sign square, go back.
▪
The winner is the one who reaches the finish line first.

Remind the pupils of the different topics and words that were covered by showing them Course Book
page 131.

Ask pupils if they recognize the image. Remind pupils that they saw the image in the beginning of the
unit (part 1).

Review vocabulary by asking pupils to look at the map of the town and say words they know, or ask:
What can you see in the city/town?

Ask pupils to point out new words they have learned that they didn’t know the first time they
saw the image (in Part 1).

Words that can be elicited include (but are not limited to): police station, hospital, library,
restaurant, store, vet, school, park, traffic light, houses, cars, bus, drive, etc.
Ask: Does this town look like yours? What do you see in your city/town?
