Have pupils point to each word in their Course Books and say the words.
Ask: Where do you live? (Elicit: I live in (city/town name).)

Do you live in a city or a town? (Explain that a town is a small city.)

Say: Let's play a game.
•
Play the game to review and practice the vocabulary: city, town, street, park, library, hospital, house,
restaurant, school, store, zoo.

Quick Flash Game (game #6)
▪
Flip all the cards so the picture is not visible.
▪
Quickly flash a card to the pupils, and then turn it back around.
▪
Ask: What is it? Have the pupils guess what they saw: (Elicit: It's ___ .)
▪
If the pupils guess correctly, turn the card around to show the picture. If the pupils do not guess
correctly, flash the card and have pupils guess again.
▪
Repeat with all the cards.
Course Book
•
Say: Open your Course Books to page 130. Look at #1.
•
Ask: Do you live in a city or a town? (Elicit a class response, or individual if it is
relevant)
•
Read and say the sentences: In my city/town there is (a hospital).
▪
For each sentence that is correct for the pupils' cities/towns, mark ✓.
•
Discuss the different places in the pupils' cities/towns. Ask: What can you do at
the (park)? (Elicit some logical responses, encourage pupils to respond in English,
and assist them if necessary, for example: You can play games at the park.)

Say: Look at #2.
•
Say: Let’s read and complete the sentences with the new words.

Have pupils use the new words at the bottom of the page to help them complete the sentences.
Show pupils that the first one has been done for them.
