Ask: What day is it today? (Elicit: Today is (Sunday).)

Review the vocabulary using the flashcards: house, restaurant, school, store, zoo.

Ask: Who remembers? (Elicit the words.)
▪
Have pupils repeat the words.
Ask (use L1 if needed): What do these words have in common? (Elicit a logical response in L1 if
needed, then repeat in English: They are all places.)
▪
Tell pupils that today they will be starting a new unit on the topic of My Neighborhood.
▪
What do you think this unit will be about? (Elicit any logical answer.)
