Performance Task

Say: Open your Stories & More book to page 54.
•
Have pupils follow the instructions on the page to complete the performance task. Have pupils assess
their work by completing the performance task checklist on page 287 of the Course Book.
•
Have pupils choose clothes to wear for the fashion show and complete the notecard according to the
example.
•
Collect the cards. Have the first pupil start walking on the runway. The pupil next in line to walk
should announce the first pupil by reading the notecard. Continue this until all pupils have walked the
runway and acted as an announcer.
•
The pupil’s work may then be displayed in an English corner in the classroom. Draw pupil’s attention
to the board once it is complete and be sure to praise pupils for their work.
Use the Performance Task Rubric in Appendix Vb to assess the pupil’s work.

Remind the pupils of the different topics and words that were covered by showing them Course Book
page 79.

Ask pupils if they recognize the image. Remind pupils that they saw the image in the beginning of the
unit (part 1).

Ask: Where is this? (Elicit: A store.)
Review vocabulary by asking pupils to look at the picture of the store and say words they know, or
ask: What can you buy at the store?

Ask pupils to point out new words they have learned that they didn’t know the first time they
saw the image (in Part 1).
▪
Words that can be elicited include (but are not limited to): shoes, socks, jacket, skirt, dress, hat,
coat, shirt, boots, pants, scarf, sweater, bag, book, umbrella, ball, store, buy, color(s), smile, etc.
