Have pupils turn to the person sitting next to them and ask: How are you?
Ask: What day is it today? (Elicit: Today is (Sunday).)

What time is it? (Elicit: It is ___ (o'clock).)
Song

Sing “Mother is in the Bedroom” (song #1.30) to review the rooms of the house.

Do gestures to illustrate the actions in the song.

Say: Let's play a game.

Play the game to review the words: shirt, pants, dress, skirt, sweater, coat, jacket, shoes, socks,
boots, hat, umbrella, scarf, bag.

Review the words using the flashcards before playing the game.
Chain Game: Let's Go Shopping (game #10)

Say: I want to buy (a blue shirt) at the store.
▪
Demonstrate the game by ask a pupil: What do you want to buy at the clothes store? (Have the
pupil say what you want to buy, then add another clothing item to the list (have pupils add a
color to make it more challenging): I want to buy (a blue shirt) and (a red dress) at the store.)

The next pupil must repeat the previous two clothing items and add a third.
▪
Continue until all pupils have had a chance to add to the sentence.
▪
If a pupil gets stuck, point to the flashcard to remind the pupil of the word, or ask the class to
help.
▪
Have pupils play in groups. The larger the group, the more difficult the game is.
