Teach the new vocabulary in the Course Book using the flashcards.

Present each card one at a time and say the words: bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen,
closet, door, mirror, sleep.
▪
Remind pupils that they learned "kitchen" in Unit 1.
Say: Open your Course Books to page 114. Look at the new words.

Say: Let's read and say the words.
▪
Have pupils point to each word in their Course Books and say the words.
Ask: What can you find in the (bedroom)? (Elicit some words that they already know, for example:
bed, closet, mirror, window, etc.)

What can you do in the (kitchen)? (Elicit some actions, e.g.: eat, drink, bake, make dinner, etc.)
▪
Repeat for each room of the house.
Game

Say: Let's play a game.
•
Play the game to practice the rooms of the house: bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen.

Mime Game (game #8)

Do an action that you would typically do in a room of the house (for example: sleep, brush your
teeth, eat, put on clothes, etc.)
▪
Say: Where am I? (Elicit the room from pupils based on the action, then elicit the action)
▪
Repeat to practice other actions/rooms.
▪
Choose a volunteer pupil(s) to act out something they do in the house. Elicit the room of the
house from the rest of the pupils.
Song
•
Teach and sing “Mother is in the Bedroom” (song #1.30).
▪
If needed, review the family members before singing the song.
