Have the pupils respond together: I am fine, thank you. How are you?

Have pupils turn to the person sitting next to them and ask: How are you?
Ask: What day is it today? (Elicit: Today is (Sunday).)

What time is it? (Elicit: It is ___ (o'clock).)

Sing “Big and Small Numbers Chant” (song #2.5) to review the numbers.
▪
After counting to 20 with the chant, continue counting by multiples of 10 to review the numbers.
Write the numbers on the board and elicit: 20, 30, 40, etc.

Review the vocabulary using the flashcards/word cards: bake, cake, game, late, milkshake, online,
same, share, size, smile, snake, table, take, time, white, write.

Ask: Who remembers? (Elicit the words.)

Have pupils repeat the words.
Ask: What is the same in all the words? (Elicit: They all have a long sound/Magic E.)

What happens when we have Magic E at the end of the words? (Elicit (in L1 if needed): The
vowel says its name.)

Read the words together with the pupils.

Which words have the long /A/ sound? Long /I/ sound? (Elicit the words.)
