Review the instructions for each task before allowing pupils to
work on their own or with a partner.

95. Look at the words. Circle words with the long I sound
/I/ in blue. Circle words with the short I sound /i/ in green.
Write the words in the correct column.

#7: Look at the pictures and write the missing letters to complete the words.

#8: Read and circle the words with the long /A/ sound in red. Circle the words with the long /I/
sound in blue.

#9: Write the words from #7 in the correct place. Write one letter in each box. Notice that tall
letters go in tall boxes, and short letters in short boxes.

Say: Let's count. Start by counting to twenty, then count by tens until you reach 100. Have pupils
point to each number in their Course Books and say the words.
Write the number 21 on the board. Show pupils that we say the words twenty and one together to
get the number twenty-one.
