6. Just a Peek
• Show a covered flashcard with only one corner visible.
• Have pupils try to guess the word. If they don't know, reveal another corner.
• Continue until they get the answer correct, then reveal the whole card.
• Repeat to practice all the words.
7. Goodnight
• Show all the flashcards.
• Have pupils put their head on the desk and say: Goodnight!
• Hide one of the cards and say: Good morning!
• Have pupils say what is missing. Reveal the card to check the answer.
• Repeat to practice all the words. Take away a different card each time.
8. Disappearing Card
• Show all the flashcards and say the words with the pupils.
• Hide one card. Say the words again, elicit the picture you have hidden.
• Hide another card and repeat until all the cards are hidden.
• When all the cards are hidden, have pupils try to say the words by memory. Reveal
the pictures again as the pupils say them one by one.
9. Number/Color Game
• Show the number flashcards. Say a number and have pupils say what color it is.
• Then, say a color and have pupils say what number is it.
• Repeat to practice all the numbers and colors.
10. Board Game
• Play the game in pairs or small groups. Each player should have a different colored
game piece.
• The game board appears on page 17 of the Activity Book.
• Have pupils place the cards they cut out from Activity Book page 15 in a pile face
down on the table.
• Each pupil takes a turn by turning over a card, saying the word, and (if answered
correctly), moving the correct number of spaces on the game board.
• A player who reaches the crosswalk may “cross” to advance in the path.
• The first player to reach the end of the path wins the game.
11. Mime Game
• Mime an action and have pupils say the word.
• Then, say a word and have pupils do the gesture.
• Have pupils take turns coming to the front of the class and miming an action.
