Use Max the Puppet to greet the pupils and say: Hello, how are you? I am fine,
thank you.
Go around the room with Max and ask the pupils: How are you? (Elicit: I am fine,
thank you.)

Play Disappearing Card (game #8) to review the numbers (1-8) and practice the
numbers: nine, ten

Present and sing “1, 2, 3 Little Monkeys” (song #2.6) to review and practice the
numbers.

Sing “Mother is in the Bedroom” (song #2.4) to review the family members and
rooms of the house.
Do the gestures for each verse of the song and have pupils copy you.
Introducing the Story: A Small House

Show the book cover of the story A Small House on page 23 of the Activity Book.
Tell pupils they will be hearing a story. Say the title of the story: A Small House
Elicit and have pupils point to any vocabulary on the book cover, for example: house,
kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, cat, monkey, hen, cow, family, etc.
