Introductions and Greetings
Greetings

Max says: Hello, how are you?
Have the pupils respond together: I am fine, thank you. How are you?
Max: I am fine, thank you.

Max asks different pupils: What is your name? (Elicit: My name is _____ .)

Introduce a new greeting:

Ask pupils what they say in their language when they see someone in the
morning.
Tell them that in English you say: Good morning.
Say: Good morning. (Elicit: Good morning)
Max greets different pupils: Good morning, (Pupil’s name).
Elicit: Good morning, Max.
Have pupils say “good morning” to a partner.
Song

Sing “If You’re a Boy/Girl” (song #1.8) and have pupils do the gestures.

Ask: Who remembers? (Elicit the words.)
Have pupils repeat the words.

Ask different pupils: Are you a boy or a girl?
Have the pupils respond: I am a girl. / I am a boy.
