Act It Out
•
Play the digital story My Family without the visuals.
•
Have pupils listen to the story.
•
Encourage pupils to produce the vocabulary they learned.
•
Assign a pupil (or groups) to act out Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Baby,
Grandfather, and Grandmother.
•
Give props for pupils to use – a ball, a balloon, a jump rope, and a picnic blanket.
•
Act out and do gestures for the story as it plays, and have pupils act out the story.
•
When it is their character’s turn in the story, pupils should and do the actions and use
their props.
Course Book
•
Say: Open your books to page 29.
•
Point and have pupils complete the sentence: Jamie says, “This is
my…” (Elicit: brother, mother and father, grandfather and
grandmother, and baby)
•
Say: Draw a line from the family member(s) to the activity they
want to do.
Repeat for all family members.

Reveal to check answers.
•
Ask: What does Brother want to do? (Elicit: Brother wants to (jump).)
Repeat for all the family members.
