Teach the new vocabulary using the flashcards and gestures.
Present each card one at a time and say the words: happy, sad.
Have pupils repeat the words and gestures.
Point to ‘happy’ and say: I am happy. Are you happy?
Have pupils repeat: Yes, I am happy.
Repeat for ‘sad’.
Game

Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down (game #10)
Show the flashcards: happy, sad, brown, white, the sky, the sun, the world.
Point to a flashcard and ask: Is this (happy)?
If what you say is right, pupils put their thumbs up and say: Yes, it is (happy).
If what you say is wrong, pupils put their thumbs down and say: No, it is not
(happy).
Repeat for all the words.

BINGO (game #11)
•
Review vocabulary using the BINGO stickers (sticker page 2): orange balloon, baby,
girl, run, boy, sad, frog, book, family, sun, swim, water.
•
Ask: Who remembers? (Elicit the words.)
Have pupils repeat the words.
Say: Open your books to page 23.
Have pupils choose any 9 stickers from sticker page 2 and stick
them onto the BINGO board in any order they choose.
•
Hand out small pieces of paper or BINGO chips for pupils to use
during the game.
•
Randomly select a word. Show the flashcard and say: Look for ____ .
•
Place the flashcard on the board.
•
If pupils have the picture on their board, they cover it with a BINGO chip.
•
Repeat by selecting another word.
•
When a pupil gets three in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) the pupil
