Greetings

Max asks: Hello. What is your name?

Say: My name is _____ .
•
Max says: Are you a (boy/girl)?
•
Say: Yes/No
•
Have Max practice this with several pupils.
•
Introduce a new greeting:

Ask pupils what they say in their language when they want to ask how someone
is.
Tell them that in English you say: Hello. How are you?
Introduce yourself to Max:
Say: Hello. How are you?
Max says: I am fine, thank you. How are you?
Say: I am fine, thank you.
Have Max repeat the dialogue with a few pupils.

Teach and sing “How Are You?” (song #1.22) with Max.
Vocabulary
Review

Review the vocabulary using the flashcards: red, blue, yellow, green, black, orange.
Ask: Who remembers? (Elicit the words.)
Have pupils repeat the words.
