Have the pupil toss the cube to another pupil and ask: How many is this? (Elicit
the number of the side that faces up.)
Repeat this until many pupils have had a turn. Alternate asking about the color or
the number.

Show flashcards one at a time and ask: How many balloons do you have?
Have the pupils respond: I have (one) balloon.
Add a balloon and ask: How many balloons do you have?
Count the balloons together. Have the pupils respond: I have (two) balloons.
Repeat until five balloons appear.
