Say to a friend: My name is _____ .
As they are working, walk around and ask pupils what their name is. Have them
answer in English by saying: My name is _____ .
NOTE
Pupils who do not like to draw can decorate the page.
If pupils have fine-motor coordination difficulties, help them trace their names by
placing your hand on theirs and tracing together.
Use the Performance Task Rubric in Appendix V b to assess the pupil’s work.

Remind the pupils of the different topics and words that were covered by showing
them the flashcards: boy, girl, red balloon, blue balloon, yellow balloon, and green
balloon.

Ask and say to the pupils:
What is your name? (Elicit: My name is _____ .)
Point to (the girl/blue balloon, etc.).

Show two flashcards and have pupils point to the one you say, or
alternatively, have different pupils come to the board to point to the correct
card. This can be done as a class, or in groups as a competition.
