Say: Open your books to page 193.

Review the words with the pupils .
•
Say:
Color the words that begin with the sound /s/ blue.
Color the words that begin with the sound /p/ yellow.
Color the words that begin with the sound /k/ green.

Reveal to check answers.
•
Ask: Which pictures did you color blue? (Elicit: sun, seven, sit down, sad)
What sound do you hear at the beginning of the words ‘sun, seven, sit down,
sad’? (Elicit: /s/)
Repeat for yellow (‘poster, pet’ /p/) and green (‘car, cake, candle’ /k/).

Say: Open your books to page 194.
•
Have pupils "read" the pictures across each row out loud or to a
partner to review the words. Pupils should use their finger to follow
the pictures as they move from left to right.

Say: Mark an X on the word that does not end with the same
sound.
•
Have pupils complete the page on their own or with a partner.
•
Reveal to check answers.
•
Say: Look at #1. Which word did you mark with X? (Elicit: world)
What sound do you hear at the end of the word ‘world’? (Elicit: /d/)
What sound do you hear at the end of the words ‘four, chair’? (Elicit: /r/)
Repeat for rows 2-4.

Ask: What do you see? (Elicit: I see (a) trip, two, pink, clown, poster,
