Say: Put the stickers from sticker page 7 in the correct box where the beginning
sound matches the picture you see.

Give pupils a few minutes to do this on their own or with a partner.

Reveal to check answers.
•
Ask: What do you see in the (red) box? (Elicit: I see (a) pillow, pencil, pink, purple.)
What sound do you hear at the beginning of the words ‘pillow, pencil, pink,
purple’? (Elicit: /p/)
Repeat for each box.

Have the pupils tell the story and say and do gestures for emotions
and actions of the characters.

Encourage the pupils to repeat the lines in the story after each page.

After finishing the story, ask:
Where are the teacher and the pupils in the story? (Elicit: The teacher and the
pupils are in the classroom.)
Why is Jamie sad in the story? (Elicit: Jamie can’t see.)
Who helps Jamie in the end? (Elicit: Tom helps Jamie.)
Is your classroom like the classroom in the story? What do you have in your
classroom? (Elicit: (a) pupils, teacher, pencils, crayons, bags, chairs, windows,
etc.)
Do you like to help your friends in class? Why? (Elicit: Yes, I like to help friends. /
No, I don’t like to help friends.)
