Go around the room and have Max ask different pupils different questions:
How are you? (Elicit: I am fine, thank you.)
How do you feel? (Elicit: I feel happy/sad/afraid/angry/surprised.)
How old are you? (Elicit: I am _____ years old.)
Do you have a pet? (Elicit: Yes, I have a (cat/dog). / No.)

Chant the “Classroom Management Chant” (song #1.9) and have pupils do the
gestures.

Review the vocabulary using the flashcards: book, bag, crayons, glasses, pencil,
classroom, teacher, pupil.
Ask: Who remembers? (Elicit the words.)
Have pupils repeat the words.
Have pupils hold up their own school supplies and say: This is my (book/bag/pencil).
Game

Hot and Cold (game #19)
Decide on an object to hide in the classroom together as a class: different colored
crayons, a book (you can use the Course Book), a pencil, or a bag.
Have one pupil leave the room.
Ask the class to help you decide where in the classroom to hide the object.
