Present each card one at a time and say the words: classroom, pupil, school,
teacher.
Have pupils repeat the word.

Teach and sing “This is the Way We Sit on Our Chairs” (song #1.38) and have pupils
do the gestures.

Review the lexical chunk: Point to…
Show flashcards one at a time and say: Point to (the teacher/a pupil/a
window/the door).
Have pupils do the gestures by pointing to the things in the classroom.
Game
•
Max Says (game #6)
Have pupils stand up. Make sure there is some distance between the pupils so
that they won’t touch each other while doing the gestures.
Show the flashcards to remind the pupils of the words: classroom, pupil, teacher,
chair, book, door, floor, window.
Have Max say: Max says point to a (pupil).
Pupils should act out the gesture only when you say “Max says…” before it.
When you give the command without saying “Max says…”, pupils should not do
anything.
Pupils who do the gesture when you don’t say “Max says…”, or do the wrong
gesture, should sit down.
Model the game a few times to remind pupils of the rules before you start
playing.
