Remind pupils that English is written from left to right and from top to bottom.

Teach the new vocabulary using the flashcards. Say: Point to (the left/right).
Do the action and have pupils copy you.
Repeat with pointing: up, down.

Teach and sing “We Read English” (song #2.60)
Point with pupils to the left and right as you sing.

Say: Open your books to page 110.
•
Say: Trace over the lines in pencil from left to right.
•
Now say: Look at the color on the left and color the pictures on the
right the same color.
•
While pupils are working, go around the room and check that pupils
are coloring within the lines.
•
Reveal to check answers.
•
Ask: What color is the (book)? (Elicit: green)
Repeat for each picture.
