Max Says (game #6)
Have pupils stand up. Make sure there is some distance between the pupils so
that they won’t touch each other while doing the gestures.
Show the flashcards to remind the pupils of the words: walk, run, swim, jump,
sleep.
Have Max say: Max says (I can jump).
Pupils should act out the gesture only when you say “Max says…” before it.
When you give the command without saying “Max says…,” pupils should not do
anything.
Pupils who do the gesture when you don’t say “Max says…,” or do the wrong
gesture, should sit down.
Model the game a few times to remind pupils of the rules before you start
playing.

Ask: Look at the pictures. What do you see? (Elicit: Jamal/jump
rope/water/bicycle)

Ask: What can Jamal do? (Elicit: Jamal can jump/swim/run/walk).

Say: Listen and write the correct number in the box.

Say:
1. Jamal can run.
2. Jamal can jump rope.
3. Jamal can ride a bicycle.
4. Jamal can walk.
5. Jamal can swim in the water.

Reveal to check answers.
•
Ask: Look at number (one). What can Jamal do? (Elicit: Jamal can (run).)
Repeat for the other pictures.
