Say: Open your books to page 92.

Say: Write your name on the line. Draw a picture of your family.

Give pupils some time to do this.
•
Pupils can copy their name from Course Book page 8 if necessary.

Encourage pupils to include all their family members and any pets
they may have.

While pupils are working, walk around, point to their drawings, and ask:
Who is this? (Elicit: This is my dad/mom, etc.)
How many brothers/sisters do you have? (Elicit: I have _____ brothers/sisters.)
Do you have a pet? (Elicit: Yes, I have a cat/dog. / No.)
Use the Performance Task Rubric in Appendix V b to assess the pupil’s work.

volunteer (or volunteers) pupil present their completed family drawing (Course Book
page 92) to the class.
Have the pupil point to each family member and say: This is my (mom).
