Introductions and Greetings
Greetings
•
Go around the room and have Max ask different pupils:
Hello, what is your name? (Elicit: My name is…)
Are you a (boy/girl)? (Elicit: Yes, I am a (boy). / No, I am not a (boy).)
Are you (happy/sad)? (Elicit: Yes, I am (happy/sad). / No.)
Song

Chant “Max is in the Bedroom” (song #1.29)
Vocabulary
New
•
Teach the new vocabulary using the flashcards and gestures.
Present each card one at a time and say the words: dog, hug, pet, sleep, toy.
Have pupils repeat the words and gestures.
Game
•
Roll the Dice (game #13)
Play the game with the vocabulary: dog, hug, pet, sleep, toy, cat.
Show the six flashcards. Write the numbers 1-6 below each picture.
Say a word and have pupils hold up the correct number of fingers according to
the number below the picture.
Repeat a few times.
Use the cube on the colors/numbers side.
Now, toss the cube to a pupil. Have the pupil say a word on the board according
to the number he/she has rolled (the side that faces up).
