HEROES Teacher's Guide - Book - Page 129
Act It Out
•
Read the story Silly Billy (or play the audio file).
•
Have pupils listen to the story.
•
Encourage pupils to produce the vocabulary they learned.
•
Act out and do gestures for the story, and have the pupils copy you.
•
Have pupils raise the appropriate puppet when they hear the item mentioned in the
story.
•
Have the pupils use their Billy the Cat puppet to act out Billy’s actions in the story and
his interactions with the items in the house.
For example, in the kitchen scene, pupils should use their puppets to have Billy
the Cat try to jump up on the chair and have Billy and the chair fall together.
