Listening Comprehension Script
Princess Meg: Henry and Lucy, you are going on an adventure to help Amir.
Listen and I will tell you what to take with you. First, take your crayons, paints
and paper.
Henry: I want to take my red and blue crayons and yellow paints. Is that okay?
Meg:
Yes, take your red and blue crayons and yellow paints, and take paper, too.
Lucy:
What else do we need to take, Princess Meg?
Meg:
You need scissors and glue.
Lucy:
…Scissors and glue? Do we need pencils, too?
Meg:
Yes Lucy, you need scissors, glue and pencils, too. Take stickers and gold stars,
too. They will also help you.
Henry: Hurray! I love stickers and gold stars.
Meg:
Okay. Now put everything you need in your big, purple bag.
Henry: But we have too many things to take. The bag is too small.
Meg:
Kids:
•
Yes, but your bag is a magic bag. You can put many things in it.
And don't forget your magic stardust.
Goodbye Princess Meg.
Ask: What do you think the twins can do with the things they are taking? Allow L1 as
necessary. It is important for pupils to make predictions based on the information they
have. This will arouse their curiosity for the next lesson.

we use Is it…? Explain that there are two possible answers – Yes, it is or No, it isn’t.
Review the use of is after the word it, e.g. it is red, it is big.
Demonstrate the activity by saying: I am thinking about one thing from the picture from
Activity 2. Can you guess what it is?
Practice the structure: Is it…? by modeling: Is it a pencil? Have pupils continue guessing
using Is it a…? Respond: Yes, it is or No, it isn't.
Have a pupil choose an item and other pupils ask “Is it…” until they guess.
At this point pupils are ready for the pair activity. Have pupils keep a record of how many
questions were asked until the item was guessed.
5. Sing a Song
• Play Track 21.
• Have pupils sing along with the CD as they follow the text.
• Replace the words in bold with words from Princess Meg's list, singing the new song with
