Unit 2 2
•
Have individual pupils come to the board, read a sentence aloud and place the correct
word card to complete each sentence.
Explain that Henry and Lucy will go to help Amir. Have pupils look at the pictures of items
that they might take with them. Have pupils identify each object in English. Encourage
pupils to use the word strip at the bottom of the page.
Individually, pupils choose the items they think Henry and Lucy will need to take on their
trip. In pairs, pupils tell their partners which items they chose. All answers are acceptable.

Note: The purpose of this activity is to prepare them for the listening task that follows.
3. Listen and Write
• Ask what Princess Meg is holding in her hand (paper). Elicit that it is an empty list. Ask
pupils when they make lists. Elicit that most people make lists so as not to forget things.
Write the word forget on the board and elicit its meaning in L1.
Play Track 20. Have pupils listen to Princess Meg and Henry and Lucy and circle the
pictures of the things that Henry and Lucy will take with them. (crayons, paints, paper,
scissors, glue, pencils, stickers, stars, a bag, magic stardust)
Focus pupils’ attention on the correct spelling of the words at the bottom of the page.
Pupils will use these words and copy them onto the list in Princess Meg’s hand.
