4. Choose a Name
•
•
Have pupils choose a title individually. Accept all answers that pupils can justify.
Lead the class in a discussion about what makes a good title. (It should relate to the
general idea of the story without giving away the ending; it should not be too specific
concerning one aspect of the story.)
Reflection
Ask: Do you think the fisherman did the right thing?
Compare the wishes the fisherman’s wife asked for with the wishes Aladdin made in Lesson 2.
Which do you prefer and why?
Note: Tell pupils to bring a white T-shirt to the next lesson, and explain that they will be
decorating the shirt with fabric paints.

The fish says, "Go home, old man. Tell your wife she is very
greedy*."
When he gets home, there is no house. There is no meat and no
fruit. There are no vegetables. The woman is now very sad.
Everyday, the man goes to the sea and calls the fish but he never
sees the gold fish again.
