Listening Comprehension Script
Henry: I know how to follow this map. I will show you how to do it. Listen and follow me.
Lucy:
Okay, let's look at the map.
Pete:
We are here at the house. Do you see the house on the map? Let’s start here.
Lucy:
OK, I see the house. We’ll start here. Look, the map shows a cave. Do you see
the cave?
Pete:
Yes, I see the cave. The map shows that we have to walk south - in the direction
of the sea. Now, let’s turn right where the map shows bamboo trees.
Henry: Yes, here are the bamboo trees on our right. We have to remember that we are
walking south in the direction of the sea – so the trees are on our right.
Pete:
Look, Lucy. Look at the map. What do you see on our left?
Lucy:
It's the Monkey Forest!
Pete:
Good. Now you can read the map too. We have to go past the Monkey Forest.
Henry: Oh, I love monkeys.
Pete:
There is no time to play with the monkeys now. Look at the map again. Do you
see Crocodile Lake in the north - at the top of the map? We have to go there.
Henry: Oh, no! Crocodiles are very dangerous.
Lucy:
We don't want to go into the water Pete!
Pete:
Don't worry. The map does not tell us to go in the water. Now, let’s walk to…
Lucy:
What Pete? What is it?
Pete:
I don't know. The map doesn't show us where to go now.
Lucy:
Henry, Pete – look at this beautiful garden. There are so many flowers in the
garden. Oh, what's that? I see something under the flowers.
Pete: It's a box. It's the treasure!
