5. Do and Show – Make a Treasure Map
• Read the instructions aloud with pupils. Ask: What materials do we need in order to
make the map? Elicit the materials needed and list them on the board. (coffee or tea,

lemon juice, blow-dryer, old newspapers)
Have pupils sit in pairs.
Have them match the pictures to the written instructions. Go over the instructions to
make sure pupils know what to do. (1.g, 2. d, 3. b, 4. h, 5. c, 6. j, 7. f, 8. e, 9. a, 10. i)

Tell pupils that they will make the map at home and bring it to the next lesson. Have
pupils use the checklist to be sure they have not missed a step in preparing their
maps.
Read the checklist with the class. The checklist is in English, since it reflects the
instructions that pupils have read.
Have pupils bring their maps to show to the rest of the class.
Decorate the classroom with the final products.
