4. Read and Chant

Chant with pupils.
•
Have pupils underline all the pronouns in the chant. (me, us, our, we)
•
Ask what each pronoun refers to: me (Lucy or Henry), us (the twins), our (belonging to
the twins), we (the twins).
•
Have pupils find rhyming pairs in the chant (me, three; done, fun).
5. Do and Show - Make a Picture Album
•
Explain the Performance Task. Tell pupils that they will make a group picture album
about a safari. Each pupil in the group brings pictures of a safari scene or of an animal
in Africa to contribute to the group album. The group chooses the pictures to go into the
album, pastes it onto a page and gives each picture a title. Under each picture, they
write one or two sentences describing it. Then they put each page in an album and write
a title for the album. They decorate the cover and sign their names.

Read the checklist in order to understand the steps in the task.
•
Have pupils brainstorm for ideas of things they can put in the album – scenes and
animals.
