Explain the meaning of the sentences in L1.
Play Track 69.
Have pupils practice reading the story aloud. Choose three pupils to act out the story
in front of the class.
Point out Lucy’s final words in the comic strip. Ask pupils how they would help Sara
find her camera.
Retell the story to the class but change the order of some of the events that occurred.
Tell pupils to stop you when you make a mistake.

Write the word mouse on the board and circle the letters ou. Explain that in English
some vowel combinations make new sounds. Ask pupils if they know any another
word that rhymes with mouse. (house) Suggest other words that pupils know which
contain the ou pattern. (out, shout, mouth, mountain, cloud)
Explain that there is a letter pattern that also makes the same sound as ou. Write the
